First Church of the Nazarene in Okmulgee will sponsor a concert featuring The Pic and Bow on Sunday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Performance of The Pic and Bow members Charles David Smart and Michelle Gawith includes a fun and dynamic energy. These two musicians come together from various background for the joy of music and sharing it with others.
Together, they create a distinctive and quality music experience.
A guitarist, Smith has performed in family pubs in Ireland and in leading American university concert halls. His career launched when he began touring with internationally recognized musicians, performing in major arenas throughout the USA, Canada and Europe, making music internationally-recognized artists.
Smith enjoys a wide range of performance opportunities in pop, jazz, country, classical and sacred music.
For nearly 20 years, he taught guitar at MidAmerica Nazarene University and currently teaches privately as well as with Kansas City Community College.
A violinist and vocalist, Gawith has studied with various renowned performers, all before graduating from high school.
As a high school freshman, she performed many solo concertos and as a symphony violinist with orchestras throughout middle America.
Gawith is an experienced worship leader, serving as an ordained minister and Registered Song Evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene.
She also teaches privately, performs with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra and also enjoys writing inspirational concert violin hymn arrangements.
First Church of the Nazarene is located at 711 N. Okmulgee Avenue.
