Dewar tailback Boogie Brown will have the opportunity to play one more high school football game.
Brown will strap on a helmet and shoulder pads for the East team at the 2018 Oklahoma Coaches Association's All-State Football Game tonight (Friday) at 8 p.m. at Union-Tuttle Stadium, located on the campus of Tulsa Union High School.
Brown will be one of two running backs from 8-Man football chosen to suit up for the East All-State squad, joining Depew's Steven Quinones.
In his final high school season at Dewar, Brown rushed for 2,430 yards on 273 carries and 28 TDs, including a season-best 341 yards in high final game in a Dewar uniform - a 60-56 loss to Prue in the second-round of the Class B playoffs.
In 12 games in 2017, Brown rushed for more than 200 yards in six games and more than 300 yards twice. Brown's 5-touchdown performance in the regular-season finale against Canadian was a season-high for the 5-foot, 9-inch, 185-pound, running back.
During his 4-year high school career, Brown guided the Dragons to a 38-10 record and four-straight postseason appearances.
Dewar tailback Boogie Brown, (26) right, runs for a sizeable gain during a 2017 road game at Weleetka. Brown will close out his high school football career tonight (Friday) at the 2018 Oklahoma Coaches Association’s All-State Football Game at Union-Tuttle Stadium, located on the campus of Tulsa Union High School.
