As Summer vacation comes to an end, Okmulgee County schools have announced start dates for the first day of school.
Wilson Public Schools start classes the earliest - Wednesday, Aug. 8. Schulter Public Schools first day of classes will be Thursday, Aug. 9. And Graham-Dustin Public Schools will begin on that same day.
On Thursday, Aug. 16, Henryetta Public Schools, Dewar Public Schools, Beggs Public Schools, Okmulgee Public Schools, Morris Public Schools and Preston Public Schools will all welcome students on the first day of school.
Several of the county schools will see many changes with new staff for the year as new staff have been hired by boards of education. They will also see other staff or teachers changing positions or switching grades taught.
