Representative Scott Fetgatter
Scott moved to Okmulgee at the age of 4, when his father bought the local IGA grocery store. He spent many years sacking groceries and learning the importance of hard work and community service.
After graduating high school as a "Bulldog", class of 1987, he married the love of his life Kim Ballenger, a fourth generation Okmulgee native. He then decided to join the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served his country honorably. Scott and Kim have now been married 28 years and have two grown children and three grandchildren.
In addition to being elected as Representative for House District 16 in 2016, Scott owns and operates a residential and commercial construction firm, Big Pappa Construction. He's personally experienced the ups and downs of the economy, like so many other Oklahoman's, and as a small businessman, he has experienced first-hand the burdens the government places on small businesses that stifle growth and productivity. Scott's business experience fueled his desire to help Oklahoma develop and diversify its economy. He understands that jobs and the economy are the keys to lifting Oklahoma, and especially rural
Oklahoma, higher. And a strong economy is the key to providing future generations of rural Oklahomans abundant, high paying job opportunities.
Scott's hard work in this area earned him the Oklahoma Professional Economic Development Council 2017 Small Business Advocate of the Year award.
As a freshman legislator Scott didn't sit back, but fought for a seat at the table to fix the problems that matter to Green County. As a strong advocate
for education, he supported additional funding for education and higher teach pay. As vice chairman of the House Wildlife Committee, he worked
diligently to preserve the rights of Oklahomans to hunt and fish. He also helped pass mandatory performance audits, as well as, line item budgeting for
major state agencies to ensure taxpayer money is being spent wisely. Additionally, he passed sensible legislation that has helped make the Aerospace
industry the number two industry in Oklahoma, and he fought hard to get money set aside in a special fund to help Oklahoma attract more businesses to
better develop and diversify the economy.
Scott's hard work and sensible ideas have earned him a place of leadership among his peers and has given District 16 a strong voice in legislation.
Scott looks forward to continuing to lead the fight for better jobs and more economic stability for Oklahoma - and especially for the area most dear to his heart – District 16.
Logan Phillips – Candidate for Representative for District 24
Logan Phillips is a republican candidate running for House of Representatives in District 24, to bring a renewed focus on education and small business development through community service and public engagement.
After graduating high school from Berryhill in West Tulsa, Logan Phillips served in the US Army National Guard for six years as an Infantryman and Combat Engineer. During this time he was also pursuing his bachelor degree from Oklahoma State University, earning a degree in Business, Information Technology, and Vocational Education.
Since completing his undergraduate degree, Logan Phillips has worked in Oklahoma as an educator, for Meridian Technology Center, Tulsa Public Schools, Tulsa Boys Home, and now as an assistant professor at Tulsa Community College.
Logan Phillips currently lives in Mounds, Oklahoma on his ranch Fancy Acres, with his wife Johnna where they raise Hereford cattle and turkeys. It is the goal of Logan Phillips as a State Representative, to inspire and empower the people of our district and create a government that is working for a better future for each individual. And to be a representative that can put aside his own desires and force the will of the people onto the government and not the will of the government onto the people.
